Passport at NADRA: Executive Passport Offices, Mega Centres and Passport Counters (2026 Guide)

NADRA

Last Updated: October 2026

Passports are issued by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGI&P), not by NADRA, but NADRA runs several of the places where you can apply. It set up 13 Executive Passport Offices with DGI&P in 2015, runs Passport Processing Counters at 30 pilot sites in tehsils with no passport office, and hosts passport processing seven days a week, including a night shift, at some of its Mega Centres in Lahore and Karachi. DGI&P says that at an Executive Passport Office or a Passport Processing Counter you pay NADRA’s service charges on top of the passport fee.

This guide covers NADRA’s part only. It uses NADRA’s Domestic Projects page, DGI&P’s passport and online passport pages and its list of Executive Passport Offices, and NADRA’s Anti Fraud and Scams statement, all read on 16 October 2026. For the passport fees, documents and timelines themselves, DGI&P’s site is the authority.

The four ways NADRA is involved

Online passportThe online Machine Readable Passport system NADRA and DGI&P launched in 2016, at onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk. Since 2025, applicants verify their biometrics through the PakID app.Paid by credit or debit card online.

Important: at an Executive Passport Office or a Passport Processing Counter you pay twice. DGI&P says the additional service charges required by NADRA are payable separately at the office or counter, in addition to the prescribed passport fee, and neither DGI&P’s pages nor NADRA’s fee structure states how much they are, so ask at the counter before you queue.

The 13 Executive Passport Offices

DGI&P’s list names Executive Passport Offices in Islamabad (Blue Area), Lahore (DHA), Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Multan, Peshawar, Karachi and Quetta. The addresses and phone numbers are in DGI&P’s EPO list. Its passport page says EPOs and PPCs keep the same office hours as ordinary passport offices: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with a prayer and lunch break from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm, and closed on public holidays.

Where passports are processed at night

DGI&P says passport processing is available Monday to Sunday at some offices, in three shifts: morning from 08:00 to 16:00, evening from 16:00 to 24:00 and night from 24:00 to 08:00. Its list of offices running all three shifts is:

  • Regional Passport Office G-10/4, Islamabad, and its Senior Citizen Branch
  • Regional Passport Office Garden Town, Lahore
  • NADRA Mega Centre, Egerton Road, Lahore
  • Regional Passport Office Awami Markaz, Karachi
  • NADRA Mega Centre, Nazimabad, Karachi
  • NADRA Mega Centre, Siemens Chowrangi, Karachi

The NADRA Mega Centres at Peco Road and Sanda Road in Lahore run the morning and evening shifts only, as do the Regional Passport Offices in Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad and Quetta. Our guide to finding your nearest NADRA office explains NADRA’s own centre finder and the Mega Centres.

The online passport and PakID

DGI&P’s online passport page describes a wizard that asks for your demographic data, biometric data and supporting documents, with the fee paid by credit or debit card once the application is complete. NADRA’s project page adds that in 2025 it launched biometric verification for online passport applicants through the PakID app, and cashless RAAST payments through dynamic QR codes. NADRA’s Anti Fraud and Scams statement says passports are processed only through onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk. Our PakID app guide covers signing in, and our guide to failed PakID fingerprint checks covers what NADRA says to do if a scan is refused.

The NADRA documents a child’s passport needs

DGI&P says that, as per NADRA’s revised policy, a minor aged 10 or above must bring either an original updated Child Registration Certificate containing fingerprints and a photograph, or a Juvenile Card, with one photocopy. A child under 10 needs an original Child Registration Certificate (B-Form) or a Family Registration Certificate. Our guides to the B-Form and the Juvenile Card explain how to get them.

What we could not confirm

  • NADRA’s service charge at an EPO or PPC. DGI&P says it exists but does not state it, and NADRA’s fee structure has no passport entry.
  • The list of the 30 Passport Processing Counter sites. NADRA names only Taxila and Attock as 2025 openings.
  • The passport fees. They are DGI&P’s and outside this guide.

Common mistakes

  • Thinking NADRA issues the passport. DGI&P does. NADRA runs some of the offices and the verification.
  • Expecting the same price at an EPO. NADRA’s service charges come on top of the passport fee.
  • Applying online through any other site. NADRA says passports are processed only through onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk.
  • Bringing an old B-Form for a child aged 10 or over. DGI&P asks for an updated CRC with fingerprints and a photograph, or a Juvenile Card.
  • Going at night to a Mega Centre that is not on the list. DGI&P names three Mega Centres with a night shift, and two more that close at midnight.
