NADRA
Last Updated: August 2026
Two things are worth knowing before you go looking. NADRA’s own office directory URL, the one search results still point at, now redirects to its homepage. And for a renewal or a reprint you may not need to travel at all, because NADRA says those can be done without visiting a centre. This page covers the one finder that still works, the alternatives to going, and what to check before you set off.
The finder that works
NADRA runs a live registration centre finder at nadra.gov.pk/ngrids. That is the authoritative source, it is maintained by NADRA rather than by a blog, and it does not go stale the way a copied address list does.
If you would rather ask a person, NADRA publishes a 24/7 call centre on 1777, and +92 51 111 786 100 from outside Pakistan. Its own description of the service covers “information regarding identity services, application status, complaints, and general guidance”. There is also an automated IVR on the same number if you do not want to wait for an operator.
Two official links that no longer work
Both checked in late August 2026, and both are worth knowing because they are a quick test of whether any other guide you are reading has been updated recently.
- nadra.gov.pk/nadra-offices redirects to the NADRA homepage. There is no office directory at that address.
- The whole id.nadra.gov.pk domain, the old Pak Identity portal, also redirects to the homepage, sign-in page included.
If a page tells you to browse NADRA’s office list at either, it has not been rechecked, and you should treat its other details with the same suspicion.
Do you need to go at all?
The cheapest trip is the one you do not make, and there are three published routes that avoid it.
Renewals and reprints, from your phone
NADRA states on its PakID page that you can renew or request a reprint of an existing CNIC or NICOP “without visiting a NADRA centre”. That works because the app scans your fingerprint through the phone camera and checks it against biometrics NADRA already holds. A first CNIC is different, since there is no record to check against, and NADRA warns separately that biometric verification and a photograph may require a visit.
Mobile Registration Vans, which come to you
Genuinely underused, and the answer for anyone who cannot reach a centre. NADRA describes its Mobile Registration Vans as providing doorstep registration and being “fully equipped to process applications just like a NADRA Registration Center“. The published service list is not a reduced one:
- CNIC: fresh, renewal, reprint or lost, and modification
- NICOP: the same four
- POC: the same four
- CRC and Juvenile Card
- Family Registration Certificate
- Cancellation of registration documents, and biometric update
Three things NADRA states about them that matter. “Standard NADRA fee will be charged, no extra charges for MRV services”, so the convenience is not priced. Service is first come, first served, so there is no slot to book. And for a fresh registration only, a blood relative must be present for biometric verification. NADRA publishes a schedule at nadra.gov.pk/mrvSchedule and reserves the right to cancel or reschedule visits without notice, so check close to the date.
An appointment, if your centre is covered
Appointment booking exists in the PakID app, but it launched as a first phase covering 43 major Registration Centres rather than the whole network. The test is simply whether your centre appears in the app. See booking a NADRA appointment online.
Types of centre, and what is actually known
You will see confident tables mapping centre types to processing speeds. Be careful with those, because two different things are being mixed up.
| Term | What it actually refers to |
|---|---|
| Normal, Urgent, Executive | Processing tiers on NADRA’s fee schedule. They are priced per service and determine how long production takes |
| Registration Centre, Mega Centre, “Executive” in a centre’s name | Facility designations. Mega Centres are reported to run longer hours and higher capacity, and several centres carry Executive in their name |
| Mobile Registration Van | A van that, in NADRA’s words, processes “just like a NADRA Registration Center” |
The important consequence: we have found nothing published by NADRA saying that an ordinary Registration Centre cannot process an Executive application. The Executive tier is a fee line on the national schedule, not a facility privilege. Treat any table that tells you otherwise as unsourced, and if the tier matters to you, confirm it with 1777 for the specific centre rather than trusting a chart.
Opening hours are the same story. Hours differ by centre and are reported to be longer at Mega Centres, but NADRA does not publish a per-centre timetable anyone can cite, so confirm before travelling rather than relying on a figure copied between blogs.
Why we do not publish an address list
Because it would be wrong within months and we would have no way of knowing when. Centres open, move and change hours, and a list copied into a blog post is frozen the day it is written. Several of the address lists ranking for this search cite NADRA’s own directory URL, which now redirects to a homepage, which tells you how recently they were checked.
Sending you to NADRA’s live finder and its 24/7 helpline is less satisfying to read and much more likely to get you to the right building on the right day.
Before you travel
Most wasted trips are not about the address. They are about arriving for the wrong service or with documents nobody asked for.
- A renewal needs your CNIC number. That is NADRA’s entire published requirement.
- A duplicate or reprint needs your CNIC number, and the policy adds “no other document will be required”.
- A name correction, as opposed to a change, needs no documents at all.
- A first CNIC needs a parent or blood relative’s ID number, a birth certificate or citizenship certificate, and biometric verification.
- If NADRA made the mistake, say office fault. Its policy requires no documents and no attestation, and states these can be processed in the Executive category free of charge.
Check also that you are asking for the right service, since a duplicate, a renewal and a modification are three different things at similar prices. Our guides to renewing, replacing and what each costs set out the differences.
Common mistakes
- Following an address list from a blog. Use NADRA’s finder or call 1777.
- Looking for NADRA’s office directory URL. It redirects to the homepage.
- Travelling for a renewal or reprint. NADRA says those can be done without visiting a centre.
- Overlooking the mobile vans. Full service, standard fees, no surcharge.
- Assuming your centre takes bookings. The rollout covered 43 centres in its first phase.
- Believing a centre-type chart about processing tiers. The tiers are priced nationally on the fee schedule.
The centre finder, the Mobile Registration Van service list, fee statement and instructions, and the 24/7 helpline description are from NADRA’s MRV page and customer service page. The statement that renewals and reprints need no centre visit is from its PakID page, and the requirement lists from its CNIC page and Registration Policy RP-6.0.1. All read on 29 August 2026, when the nadra-offices and id.nadra.gov.pk redirects were also checked. Mega Centre hours and the appointment rollout figure are press-reported rather than published by NADRA.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about this topic.
How do I find my nearest NADRA office?
Use NADRA’s live registration centre finder at nadra.gov.pk/ngrids, or call its 24/7 helpline on 1777, or +92 51 111 786 100 from outside Pakistan. NADRA’s older office directory URL now redirects to its homepage.
Does NADRA publish a list of office addresses?
Not one you can browse on a page. Its nadra-offices URL redirects to the homepage. The live finder is the maintained source, which is why address lists copied into blog posts go stale.
Can I avoid going to a NADRA centre?
Often, yes. NADRA states that renewals and reprints of an existing CNIC or NICOP can be done without visiting a centre, because the PakID app scans your fingerprint through the phone camera. A first CNIC usually still needs a visit.
What is a Mobile Registration Van?
NADRA’s doorstep service, described as fully equipped to process applications just like a Registration Centre. It covers CNIC, NICOP and POC in all four categories, CRC, FRC, cancellations and biometric updates, at standard fees with no extra charge.
Do mobile vans cost more?
No. NADRA states that the standard fee is charged with no extra charges for MRV services. Service is first come, first served, and for a fresh registration a blood relative must be present for biometric verification.
Can any NADRA centre do Executive processing?
Normal, Urgent and Executive are processing tiers priced on NADRA’s national fee schedule, not facility privileges. We have found nothing published by NADRA saying an ordinary Registration Centre cannot process an Executive application. Confirm with 1777 for a specific centre.
What are NADRA office opening hours?
They differ by centre, and Mega Centres are reported to run longer hours, but NADRA does not publish a per-centre timetable that can be cited. Confirm with the helpline before travelling.
What should I bring to a NADRA centre?
Less than you expect. A renewal needs your CNIC number. A duplicate needs your CNIC number and NADRA’s policy adds that no other document is required. A name correction needs no documents at all. Only a first CNIC needs a full document set.
